It is with great excitement that the Meat, Seafood and Cheese Department announces the opening of our full service seafood counter. The glass display case that once housed our larger wheels of cheese has been thoroughly transformed and now proudly exhibits a broad assortment of the freshest seafood available. The counter will be open during all business hours, and our staff will be happy to answer any questions that you may have. Furthermore, we would love to hear what you think of our products. The more our customers tell us about their own experiences preparing and eating the foods we carry, the better equipped we will be to bring you the products you desire, backed by knowledge that you can rely on.

We provide a wide variety of fresh meat and seafood that fits within the The Common Market buying guidelines and standards.
Seafood
Some of our featured seafood is:

  • sockeye salmon fillets
  • flounder fillets
  • tuna steaks
  • sword steaks
  • scallops
  • cod
  • rockfish
  • mussels
  • oysters
  • lump and jumbo lump crab meat
  • fully cooked, frozen King crab, Snow crab, and Dungenese crab legs
We have also brought in wild halibut from Canada, wild orange ruffy from New Zealand, farmed tilapia from Ecuador.

Pork
Our new, natural pork section boasts bone-in and boneless cuts of every kind, including baby back ribs and whole tenderloins from Niman’s Ranch.

Local Pork
Exclusive sold at The Common Market is Hahn’s All Natural Pork Sausage in Sweet Italian, Hot Italian, and Apple. Hahn’s Sausage is locally produced in Westminster, MD.

Beef
In beef, Grateful Harvest brings us organic, grass fed ground beef and patties, as well as a wide variety of steaks and roasts.

Local Beef
Another local meat is Ruth Anne’s frozen all-natural grass fed ground beef, frozen beef liver, marrow bones, and wide assortment of steaks.

Chicken
We are continuing to sell Pristine Cuisine organic chicken, Wise organic, free range, kosher chicken, and have added a wider selection of Coleman’s Natural chicken.

Lamb
We have just added our all-natural lamb selection from Shepherd’s Pride, offering racks, legs, loin and rib chops, and more. Wholesome Harvest organic ground lamb and organic lamb chops are available in the frozen section.

The Common Market Fresh Meat and Seafood Department provides our owners and customers with the best local, natural and organic meat available. We embrace the co-op commitment to supporting locally produced products and we are searching out new avenues to increase our offerings of locally raised meats.
